Our interview with our favorite wellness coach:

What first got you interested in being a fitness and wellness coach?

I’ve always loved being active, going to a fitness class and getting that endorphin high from the pumping music, energy of others and a tough workout.
Funny enough, before I became a Virtual Wellness Coach, I explored becoming a Barre instructor with an end goal of owning my own Barre studio as secondary business. I wanted to inspire other busy mamas to carve out time & focus on their wellness. However, the huge time and financial commitment of operating a brick and mortar fitness studio, dissuaded me.
Thus, I found a way to still run a fitness business, but from the comfort of my home.  Now I lead others through virtual monthly fitness & nutrition challenges in the extra pockets of time I create between motherhood (my first passion and priority) and my career with Site Selection Services.
I am still able to achieve my dream of inspiring others through fitness and now have the best of all three worlds.

How has your life changed since making fitness a priority?

As a busy working mom,  the best decision I made post-kids was to make myself and my fitness a priority.  Let’s be honest, it’s the busy mamas who set the tone in the house. Am I right?

Once I found a lifestyle plan that was balanced and taught me healthy routines every day, I began to feel better.  I had more energy. I was happier (body, mind and soul)  AND finally, I had a kick booty virtual squad to lean on when I didn’t feel like doing it.  My team made me cut the excuses and press play on a quick 30 min endorphin boosting workout.

I kept at it because I was ready  to make a change. I was ready to commit and create new habits I could maintain.

In the process I have learned how to live a happy & healthy life without guilt.
I give credit to my circle of women, my Beachbody team, encouraging me and building my belief every step of the way.

How do you keep positive and productive?

I’m a big proponent of brain dumping ideas, time blocking your days and consistently focusing on personal development.  I start my days reading something from my personal development library or listening to a podcast that fills my mind with gratitude and positive affirmations. Every Sunday evening ( or Monday morning) I plan out my week and time block almost everything from personal time, family time and work time. I firmly believe time blocking and planning is imperative to achieve goals. Additionally, I write my top 5-10 priorities/tasks to accomplish with due dates. For me, working from my list and calendar is key to staying organized, on task and productive.

Speaking of personal development, what are some of your "go to" books or podcasts?

I have a large library, but here are a few of my favorites:

*Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod

*The 5 Second Rule by Mel Robbins

Podcasts:   School of Greatness by Lewis Howes and The Goal Digger by Jenna Kutcher

What are three tips to stay with your fitness routine on the road?

1. Find a tribe and commit to a program that is convenient, quick & effective.

2. Make fitness a fun challenge. Create friendly competition with a group of like-minded people who encourage you to stay on routine and keep you accountable with virtual group workouts and check-ins – even when traveling.
I‘m always following and leading a group of women through a specific fitness program and having a scheduled program helps me stay committed

3. Finally, schedule in your workout like an important client meeting or doctor appointment that you wouldn’t cancel.

For me, a morning workout is key.  Before, the hustle and bustle of the day starts,  I have completed my workout, checked the box and kept my appointment with myself.

As a fitness and wellness coach, what advice do you have for people who want to start a fitness routine but have a tough time staying committed?

Join a tribe. Find a group of like minded people who are excited to join you on a healthy journey. Share your goals out loud and encourage each other along the way; both the small and big wins. They all matter. I run monthly accountability groups where we follow various fitness programs together, share meal plans, recipes and are always setting goals and cheering on each other’s accomplishments.  Consistency is contagious.
I also love the quote: " You are the sum of the 5 people you regularly surround yourself with ... make it count."  Your peer group shapes your success, your interests and much more about you than we even realize.

If you ever want to join my fit community where we have a heck of a lot more fun than focusing on the scale, let’s chat. You can also find me on Instagram. Follow along or simply weave in, accountability, support, encouragement and new friends!!  ⠀⠀⠀⠀

My entire fitness journey changed with one decision. My life is happier, my kids have an energetic mom, my family eats better but it’s not an obsession it’s a lifestyle. A lifestyle I am so proud of....
