September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Turn lemons to lemonade.

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month and there are many fundraisers happening right now to help fight childhood cancer and support those affected by the disease. We’d like to highlight and give love to a cause that’s particularly close to our hearts.

We are big fans of the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, which offers several ways for children, businesses and individuals to host their own fundraiser. It’s especially sweet that kids can help other kids by simply running a lemonade stand—that’s how the fundraiser was started by, Alex, a four-year-old girl who held a childhood cancer fundraiser in her front yard, as she herself was battling cancer.  She passed away in 2004 at the age of eight, having helped raise more than $1 million to help find a cure for the disease that took her life. Today, Alex’s family and supporters around the world remain committed to continuing her inspiring legacy.

Check out their website to learn more about Alex and find out how you—and your kids—can get involved.
